I had the opportunity to attend an Opera on Sunday. I have never been to an opera before so it was a good experience. I only was there for about 30 minutes due to my ride, but it was just the right amount of time for me! I heard, I saw, and I experienced a formal opera. It was great and I sat on the front row! I saw the orchestra and that was probably the coolest part! Don't worry, I made it back for Conference!!!

It was at the Kennedy Center, which is beautiful! I started to take pictures, but then some lady yelled at me because it was against the rules!! Opps, I snuck in a few more though, ha ha!

Poor Brian spent the day with 4 beautiful girls! We went to the Book Fair and walked around The Mall (no, not a real mall. That's what I thought we were doing! Ha ha, the area in DC with all the museums is called The Mall)
Chelsey, Sarah, Jessica, Brian, and Andrea at an art museum. Me and Sarah was a little wet because it was pouring outside and we were looking for a hot dog stand... never found one!

So I bought this awesome umbrella the other day. It is huge! I took out a guy walking down the street! I will be dry though, along with the other 5 people that are under it with me!!

Another week gone by! I can't believe how fast it is going. That's ok, cause even though I am having a blast out here in DC, I miss my family and home so much. I have a lot of pictures to add again. Last Saturday, us girls went shopping in Georgetown. I wish I had a lot of money to buy everything that I wanted there cause I loved it all! I had to resist a lot, but I did buy a couple of things. I have done so much this past week! Monday was FHE, Tuesday was Institute, Wednesday was ice cream night, Thursday was Sushi, Friday was Imax theater, and the Saturday was our ward BBQ. Holy cow something every night, plus working all day! My journal is going to be chuck full by the time I get home:) Today I went on an adventure by myself. Everyone else took a car trip so I decided to go do some sight seeing myself. I ran along the Mt. Vernon Trail and took it into DC and went and saw the museums. The animal museum was the coolest. Not much of an art looker! I did a lot of walking and wore myself out thats for sure! Here are some pictures of this weeks events!
This is the view just right before I crossed the bridge. It is definately prettier when it's dark.
This is the WWII Memorial. Idaho and Utah happened to be right next to each other so it was a picture worth taking right!

The notorius White House!
This was taken at the Smithsonian Museum. It's my sister from anothe mister! Don't we look like twins! ha ha

Wow it's been a crazy couple of weeks! It's hard to find time (and the internet because my apartments won't let me hook my laptop up at my apartment) to post everything. I have just been working away here in DC. I ride the metro to work everyday and I feel like a real city girl, even though I would trade it all for the country! I miss the mountains and I get so lost without them!!! Congress is now back in session and my job is a little more intense. I still answer phones, deliver and sort mail, print faxes, you know the normal office work, but to add on to that, I am taking people on tours of the Capitol, attending briefings (which I have no idea what they are talking about) and doing whatever the Legislative Staff needs me to do. I am learning so much just being in the office. I love it! I just hope I can remember it all and become smarter!!! So here are just a few more pictures of what has been going on during this adventure in DC!

Mike, Me, Erika, and J.D. posing so cute in front of Abe Lincoln!

This is me standing in front of the Vietnam Memorial. On Labor Day we went and saw all the sites around DC. It was an extremely hot day, but it was really fun seeing everything around me.

Me and some ducks in front of the Relecting Pool. This always reminds me of Forest Gump!

One of the saturdays, there was a tropical storm warning because of Hannah. They weren't lying when they said to stay inside because even with an umbrella, I was soaked to the bone! This is in front of the Washington Masonic Museum. It is my favorite museum so far!

Hey it's the Jackson's room! We are famous.

Me and George. Don't we look cute!

Pictures from DC!

This is a picture of the Longworth Building on Capitol Hill. I spend a lot of time at this building, Mon-Fri. 9-5.
Here is my lovely decorated room! I know, my bed isn't made, but it's kind of hard to make it when all I have is a little blanket that slides off the bed! It's where I call home though and it will have to work for a while. I just can't wait till my comforter comes in the mail!!!

For our first weekend in DC, my fellow interns and I (I would like to call them my friends!) took a trip to Gettysburg. It was a day filled of driving, walking, and lots of information. It really helps when all of your friends are braniacs and know everything about history! Love it!
Erika, Me, Blane, Mike and J.D. Here is the crew! All 5 of us at lunch before we started our tour of Gettysburg.
This is me riding a cannon! Don't worry, I didn't get bucked off!
This picture is taken at Little Round Top, the very left flank of the Union Army. Yeah, I had to ask because I had already forgot where it was!

Well, I am now in Washington, D.C. Kind of hard to believe that I actually just got up and moved out here for the rest of the year. So far, I am loving it! It is crazy to me that I ride the metro to work everyday and then work right next to the Capitol Building! I am answering phone calls, delivering mail, learning everything about Congress, and going to be giving tours. This is a once in a lifetime chance. I have made some really good friends so far and hope to make some more. My ward is extremely big, like 300 people big. Just a little different then the Branch back at home hu! Anyways, as soon as I take some pictures, I will get them uploaded so everyone can see just how cool everything is! Love it!!!
