Oh the weather outside is frightful...

But, friends and family are delightful!!  This last weekend my best friend came for a visit from Arizona.  She was in for quite a shock! On Saturday we woke up to this...

We called Whitney to see if they would cancel the game, and she said no way! So we got bundled up, got hot chocolated up, and stuck it out to see Griff play.  He did awesome and the game wasn't that cold.  I kept asking Ami how she was doing, and she said she was fine so I left it at that:)  It was way fun to have Ami come visit.  I hope she had fun cause we sure loved having her here!

Go Griff!!!

BYU vs ISU

Yes I know what you are all thinking..."I bet that was such a good game!"  Ok, so maybe not but it was good to support the school we have all gone to.  I have to admit though, this is the first ISU football game I have been to, ever, and we traveled to Provo for it!  It might not have been the most exciting game ever, but it was fun to be with friends for the day.  ISU lost (big surprise) but at least they scored!  We dressed up to support our school, and we sure stuck out:)

The Good, The Bad, and The Guilty

My dear friend Ami came into town from Arizona.  I wanted to do something fun and boy did we:)  We played How to Host a Murder.  It was so much fun.  We had a good group, that took a lot of work to get but finally we had people pull through.  We had good food, good friends, and good times!  Here are a few pictures of the night.

Amie and Josh
Ami and JR

Trying to be tough:)

We didn't get a picture of Trevor and Angie but they were the other couple.  They were nice enough to come on such short notice so we didn't get a chance to get a picture of them.

A hunting we will go!

Brett somehow talked me into going hunting with him and 3 other guys over the weekend.  Let's just say it was an experience I will never forget!  I was definitely not prepared for what I was getting myself in.  Early mornings, late nights, lots of hiking, and LOTS of silence!  I just wanted to talk and sing and move, and these boys would have none of that!  It was a great trip and you can pretty much call me a professional hunter:)  (j/k)
Look out elk...Brett's coming to get you!
Where we sat...for the whole day!

Oh, so cute!

Check out that face! I'm talking about the elk:)
Huddled under the tree where we sat for 8 hours!

Lucky as me!

The other day, after coming home from a long day at work, I found this on the front door step:)
As you all know, I love ice cream.  It's just so....amazing! I first saw this sign at some people's house that are in our ward.  I saw it and just had to have it.  It was hanging on there barn.  The next Sunday, I begged Brett (pretty much threatened him) to ask about the sign and if we could buy it from them.  After a long conversation with nothing to really do with the sign, they agreed to just give it to us!  I was so excited.  After a couple weeks, I come home to the sign sitting on the front porch:)

Brett is so handy!  He made me this picture frame out of some wood, go figure!  He has been working out at Chesterfield on an old barn and so he surprised me with this frame. The stuff inside is something he put together too.  Before we got married, I gave him my wedding time capsule that I made while in Young Women's.  It has our wedding colors, what my dress looks like, names of our kids, and letters to my future husband, aka Brett.  Anyways, I love the frame and it will look great...get ready for this...in our
NEW HOUSE!

"The Help"

The other day Brett had the day off from work so we decided to have a date together. We got up and went on a bike ride up to Moonlight Mine. It was a beautiful day and the company wasn't too bad either:) We then decided to go to the movie. We went and saw "The Help." This movie was so so so good! I loved it. Not only was it funny, sad, and inspirational, but it really opened my eyes up. We can all use a little "Help" in our lives, but what I got from this movie is that we have all this help around us but we will always want and need more. This might sound like I am preaching, but I am mostly preaching to myself. It's easy to get down and gloomy about things that we don't have or that we want. Why not try to be the "help" someone else needs. I am going to try this out and will let you know how it ends up:) And remember,
"You is smart, you is kind, you is important!"

Real Fishermen!

Now that it is summer (not with this weather), every weekend we will probably be up at the Bybee's cabin, a.k.a. Brett's favorite place on earth! We went fishing on opening day, played games at the cabin, walked around town, and had a great time. Here's to a lot more weekends of lots of fun!

Me netting the fish. They got mad at me cause I was doing it wrong ha ha. Isn't Brett so cute:) And Arden (Alex and Michelle's boy) looking like a professional.

The Great Potato Marathon

So someone got the bright idea to run in a 1/2 marathon. Whoever this person was they should be shot! Ok...that is a little extreme since it was me:) Me, Brett, Bryce, Nikki, Mark and Darryl ran the gruesome 13.1 miles. We (as in everyone but Brett) trained for months to get ready for this race. Race day came and Brett ran a total of 10 miles for training. Everyone thought he wouldn't make it, and I can't lie, I was a little worried about him finishing. Well, he finished and he ran right next to me the whole time. But don't worry, I still beat him with a dead sprint to the finish line. It was a lot of work, sweat, and soreness, but we all had a good time running together. Sorry the pictures are black and white but it still does justice.

My cousin had a photo booth at his wedding...these are the results:)
I thought it was such a cute idea! So fun!!!

Graduation

The day finally came...Brett graduated!!! I couldn't tell you how proud I am of him. He has been going to school and working full time for the last 6 years. He studies more then any person I know! He would spend endless hours at the school studying and doing homework and it has all finally came to an end!!! Now, he is spending endless hours at work ha ha! At least he is making some money:) Both of us are trying to find jobs, but as many know, the job market isn't the best right now. We will just have to play the waiting game along with a lot of other people. It's so much fun!! (total sarcasm) As for now, Brett is working for his brother Bryce. He is busy, busy, busy. I am still at Mrs. Powell's. It's an easy job, and I actually enjoy all the people watching. There are the regulars that come in everyday... all day! It makes me laugh. These old men come in, get their coffee, and just sit around for hours talking, laughing, walking, and sitting. It's the same crew everyday. I have gotten to know a lot of them, and I now look forward to when I get to see them:) Of course there are the ones that creep me out and make me cringe, but it wouldn't be the same without them.
"The Herd." That's what they called themselves, I don't know why! This group was inseparable throughout school. Don't know what they would have done without each other:) I can see these guys when they are old and gray being the mall walkers ha ha!

The biggest fans of Brett!

Catch up and run!

When you look in the dictionary at the word "procrastination," it should say Chelsey! I am so good at it. I find myself doing nothing productive and then freaking out when I have so much to do because I have put it off. Blogging kind of gives me that feeling too. I have so much to post about but of course I put it off and put it off some more. So here is a brief update of all the things that have been going on. Arizona for me, Alaska for Brett, Jazz game with the boys, Easter, and life! That's about it in a nut shell:)
OK, so Brett went to Alaskafor a steal bridge competition. I wanted to go, but since it would have been so expensive, we decided (more like I) it would be a better idea if I went and visited Ami in Arizona. I had so much fun and I think Brett did too, since he hardly called me, while I was calling him, texting him about every 5 min:) I didn't think I was such a "Whitney" when it comes to being attached, but what can I say...I am! Anyways, it was good trip, but it was way good to come home.
My dad had tickets to the last Jazz game of the season. Of course I had been hounding him, along with my cousin Justin for the tickets. He caved in and decided to take along the grandkids. It was probably the funnest games ever, not only because it was an amazing game, but seeing my dad spoil those boys and seeing the boys light up with excitement was priceless. They ran down to the floor after the game and as you can see in the pictures, they had a blast!
Next comes Easter. I decided tobe theEaster Bunny for Brett. I sent him on a scavenger hunt with poems as clues. I didn't think they were that hard, but I had to give him a lot of clues. He found his basket, and I think he was pleased with the findings. He was cute!
Well, School is about over and both Brett and I can't wait! I think I am more excited for Brett to be done then he is! He spends so much time studying and doing homework it's crazy. I should be more like him, should being the key word, but...nah!!! Blogging is way more important!!!
Me trying to fit into Brett's suitcase...it almost worked!

The Boys!! Isn't my dad so cute!

Brett eventually found his basket :)

Airport

While waiting and waiting, and waiting some more for my flight to take off for Arizona, I think of what I could do with my time. I thought about watching a movie, but the Internet is so slow at the airport. Then I think about reading a book, and I just find myself people watching so I can't get into it. Then I surf the Internet and soon become bored of doing that! I sometimes feel like I have ADD because I can't do anything for a long period of time, unless it watching basketball, but there are no games on right now. So, now I am boring everyone who will read this instead:) I got to the airport this morning at around 11 soon to find out the flight was delayed until 3 for maintenance reasons. I am stranded without a car and hungry, but too cheap to pay the airport price for food. I get the bright idea to go for a walk. It wasn't just a walk, it felt like an all day hike! You can have a good laugh while imaging this...I'm walking down the Highway in I.F. dragging my roller bag, hair blowing in the wind (not the sexy kind either), and me sweating! I pretty much looked like a rich homeless girl ha ha. It was a sight to see I'm sure and I had a lot of stares, but I was bound and determined to find me something to eat. Plus, what else did I have to do? I finally found Walmart and to my luck, a subway. Walking into subway, with my bag, I got more stares and funny looks. I got my sandwich and was off to make the hike back to the airport. More stares and honks came, but I made it back only to find out that the flight was delayed...again! Now I am hear at the airport till about 6 tonight, waiting to see Ami! So, for at least 3 more hours, I will be sitting in the airport people watching and surfing the Internet:) But on the bright side...free bottled water and pop! Jackpot!!!

Who Knew?

Wednesday night, was a night that will go down in history! Who would have ever thought that it was Jerry Sloan's last game in his NBA coaching career. Shawn, Bryson, Brett and myself witnessed a great game, even though they lost, they still beat the traitor Boozer up and made him work for it. We even got on the jumbotron! Bryson and I were both on cloud 9 while Brett did a great job acting like a Jazz fan.
